As you can see, this F5 has some play wear. As we all know a mando with this kind of wear means just one thing, it must sound incredable. Shown in the photos you will see there in wear on the treble side of the neck through the finish. This in no way at all effects the tone or playability of this instrument. All Gibson mandolins are hand made in the USA. Most of the traditional procedures used for the original 1920's Loar mandolins are still being used today. It has been said that the craftsmen could trade places in time, and it would take less than a day for them to feel comfortably at work in the factory. Even many of the original tools are still in use. Many of the ideas are derived from the techniques used to build the Stradivarius violins.
